Wilding - The Return Of Nature To A British Farm
Isabella Tree
A groundbreaking rewilding project.
On quiet June days, the unmistakable cooing of the once-rare turtle doves can be heard again on Knepp Estate in West Sussex. A true miracle for the formerly intensively farmed agricultural and grazing land, located only 70 kilometers from central London. Also, the endangered long-eared owls and peregrine falcons, as well as numerous species of butterflies and plants, have now settled in Knepp, with new arrivals every year. When Isabella Tree and her husband initiated the pioneering rewilding project, she had no idea just how quickly nature could recover. Tree’s personally written, fascinating story is about the beauty and power of nature and gives hope.
