Wilde Weiden - Rewilded Meadows

Wilderness In The Weinviertel Region!

For millions of years, large grazing landscapes have shaped Central Europe. Herds of large herbivores created a diverse habitat, home to thousands of species of animals, plants, fungi, and other organisms. Wisents, wild horses, and other species were eventually replaced by the domesticated animals of the first Central European farmers, allowing the pasture ecosystem to survive until modern times. Today, however, this habitat has almost completely disappeared from the Weinviertel region – and we want to change that!
